I have been writing short stories since I was a small child. Over the last few years I have been regaling my friends by email with amusing accounts of my life. It has been suggested many times that I get my emails published. Finally during a Julie Felix concert this website was conceived. Near the beginning of the concert Julie started to sing:

How could anyone ever tell you that you are anything less than beautiful.
How could anyone ever tell you that you are anything less than whole.
How could anyone fail to notice that your loving is a miracle.
How deeply you’re connected to my soul.

By Libby Roderick

On hearing these words tears started to stream down my face as I realised that my true self had never been truly recognised. I cried for most of the rest of the concert and towards it’s end I knew that the answer lay in having a website that reflected my true being. Thus this website was born.

butterflyCreating this website has been a joy. I do hope that you will enjoy it.

On Iona’s Diary page are the best parts of the emails I write to my friends. I hope you enjoy them as much as my friends do.

On the True Stories page is “Mabel’s Funeral”. It is about a funeral and disposal of ashes that I arranged in 1996. At the time, when I spoke to my friends about what was going on, I had them roaring with laughter. It’s a good idea to know how to organise a funeral before one has to do it. I didn’t. It’s also a good idea to know how to handle your undertaker. I learnt. I hope this account will amuse you as well as educate you, if that is relevant. When someone one loves dies, the pain and the loss can be overwhelming and that is not the right moment to learn how to organise a funeral. The undertaker would do most of it for you; however that way you might not get what you want.
So I hope “Mabel’s Funeral” will give you some idea how to do it, your way.
All names in this story, except for Mabel’s, have been changed to protect the privacy of the people concerned.

On the Inspirations page are poems, sayings and jokes, which I have collected over the years.

My Links page gives you numerous opportunities to enliven your life by many different routes.
